Eurovision Song Contest نام یک مسابقه ی آواز است که از 1956سالانه میان کشور های اروپایی(و گاهی هم کشور های غیر اروپایی از قبیل کانادا، ژاپن و ...) برگزار میشود و از هر کشور تنها یک خواننده به نمایندگی فرستاده میشود.
میزبانی یوروویژن هر سال بر عهده ی کشوریست که سال گذشته برنده ی مسابقه شده و امسال سوئد برای سومین بار میزبان اهالی موسیقی بود.طبق روال هر ساله برنامه به صورت زنده در تلویزیون و رادیوی سراسر اروپا پخش، و برنده از طریق آراء مردم برگزیده شد.
رقابت امسال میان 26 کشور اروپا برگزار شد و حدود 130 میلیون بیننده را به خود جذب کرد. و سر انجام بعد از یک فینال 3 ساعته امیلی دو فراست، خواننده ی 20 ساله ی سرشناس دانمارکی با خواندن آهنگ Only teardrops جایزه ی بلورین مسابقه را از آن خود کرد. کشور های اوکراین و آذریایجان نیز به ترتیب مقام دوم و سوم را کسب کردند.
